Heaven and Hell by Teresa Carr Some people may ask why is there even a Heaven and why this earth is passing away? What is in God’s plan to put an end to this world and renovated a new earth? For all us believers who are the generation that will see the Second Coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ know that this most long awaited event in all the history of mankind will one day take place. It’s times to be dutiful of our priorities and praying for lost loved ones, close friends, and co-workers. Time is getting close for this time of the ages to come to a close. We see on the evening news every day things that trouble and disturb the average viewer. The Old Testament prophet Daniel said that before the Tribulation there will be natural disasters coming upon the earth (Dan. 12:1). Just before the Tribulation the Lord will come in the air and catch you up to Heaven. Church Age-Indefinite Time In Acts 2, before Jesus ascended to Heaven, he promised to send the Comforter to his disciples and followers. He also commanded that the gospel to be preached to all nations, baptizing them and making disciples of all. After his ascension on the 50^th day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came and gave the church to all those who were waiting for his coming. Throughout all the ages followers looked for the return of the Lord. Prophecy tells the time of his second coming from the Daniel when knowledge would increase, and everyone would run to and fro meaning the increase in travel, and the prophet Ezekiel saw the Jewish people return to their ancient homeland and that nation became Israel and use of nuclear weapons in war. All of these signs point to our 21^st century. No other century in history has ever had as much achievement in science and technology as ours. In Matthew 24, Jesus spoke on Mt. Olivet of the days of deception and tribulation such as man has ever seen or ever will. With the rise of sin and deception the coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is very near. The next event will be the rapture or catching up of God’s people to be evacuated out of the tribulation that will take place for seven years. The Time of the End of the Ages Rapture of the Church I Thessalonians 4:13-18 Apostle Paul tells us, but I would not have you to be ignorant, brethen, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope. For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him. For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we, which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord, shall not prevent them, which are asleep. For the Lord himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. You’re in Heaven; you will attend the Judgment Seat (Bema Seat) of Christ where your works and not your sins will be judged. What you have accomplished in the service for God will be greatly rewarded (Deut. 32:36). 2 Corinthians 5:10; I Corinthians 3:11-15 The Apostle Paul said We must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in the body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Romans 2:16; Galatians 6:7 For no other foundation can anyone lay than that which is laid, which is Jesus Christ. Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw each one’s works will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each other’s work, of what sort it is. If anyone’s work, which he has built on, it endures, he will receive a reward. If anyone’s work is burned, he will suffer loss; but he himself will be saved, yet so as through fire. Isaiah 42:6 3.5 years of tribulation Revelation 6-19 While in heaven, there will be the Marriage Supper of the Lamb and His Bride (The Church) in a grand ceremony attended by all Believers of all ages. Revelation 19:7-9: Psalm 45 Christ Returns with the saints to the Battle of Armageddon at the end of the seven years has passed and the Tribulation period is accomplished on earth. Glorious Appearing Daniel 7:13-14 Christ’s feet touch the Mount of Olives and cleaved in two from east to west, making a very large valley. Half of the mountain shall move toward the north and half of it toward the south, then you shall flee through my mountain valley. For the mountain valley shall reach to Azal. Yes, you shall flee as you fled from the earthquake in the days of Uzziah king of Judah. Thus the LORD my God will come, and all the saints with you. The pristine city will be 1,500 miles on each side and 1,500 miles high in the air. You will reside in the peace and comfort of God forever.
